The bottom rail is at the first tread of the stairs. We are positioning the rail in the ‘up’ position to avoid tripping hazardds at the lower floor position.
Here we see the chair in the exit position so the client can easily exit the stairlift.

Completed rail installation with the stairlift at the top. You can see there is plenty of room for everyone to pass by the stairlift.
