The Advantage Home Health Solutions team would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! Here’s hoping that your 2018 has already gotten off to a fantastic start. If there’s anything we can do to make 2018 your best year yet, please let us know! We’d be only too happy to assist.

As we highlighted in our final blog of 2017, Advantage Home Health Solutions is committed to helping individuals with mobility issues to restore their independence. It’s practically our credo. Allow us to officially state that, in 2018, we will be more dedicated than ever to helping as many individuals as possible restore their independence.

From our many years of experience, we have learned that an inability to walk without assistance is lot more than a physical issue. The mental and emotional toll it can have on an individual can be the worst part of the entire experience. This is why we’re so adamant about informing our customers about the many ways in which our mobility solutions can better their lives. Our products provide long-term solutions that are meant to rebuild confidence in those who think that they can’t lead fulfilling lives.

Let’s just take a look at a few of those mobility solutions.

Walkers and Rollators

Walkers and rollators belong to the same family of mobility solutions. Rollators refer to walkers that have four wheels. Naturally, you have options. Basic walkers have four legs, but no seat. They are ideal for individuals who have the strength to pick up the walkers to move them along in conjunction with their steps.

Two-wheel walkers are like basic walkers, except, of course, for the fact they have two wheels on the front legs. Users are able to put more weight on these walkers, moving them along with greater ease. Clearly, there is less of a requirement to lift them up. Rollators, as you may have imagined, are best suited for long-distance walking. Not only can they be pushed along for the duration of each walk, but they can be used as seats when rest is necessary.

Power Wheelchairs

For those with little or no ability to walk, power wheelchairs provide ideal mobility solutions. They can be used both indoors and outdoors. Power wheelchairs are composed of two sections: the base and seat. The base houses the power, batteries and motor while the seat performs its natural task of offering comfort to the user. These wheelchairs have joysticks on their armrests that allow users to easily direct their movements.

Scooters

Scooters are great mobility solutions for individuals who can still walk, but either struggle with their balance or have issues walking for long distances. Scooters, however, provide limited accessibility when compared to power wheelchairs because of their larger sizes. They are excellent, however, for travelling long distances. To make sure you’ve selected the right scooter, it’s important to consider its fits, where you’ll be using it the most and how easy it is for you to operate.
